Lockie Ferguson born on 13 June 1991, in Auckland, is one of New Zealand’s most menacing express fast bowlers. He has shown he can regularly bowl over 150 km/h and possesses the raw pace, aggression and wicket taking paras. He made his First-Class debut in the 2012-13 season and his domestic performances stood out above others and emerged quickly through the ranks. It wasn’t until 2016 in his debut ODI against Australia that he had his first real taste of international cricket. Since then he has been an important factor in New Zealand’s white-ball plans playing in several major tournaments and the IPL. Ferguson has had injury troubles in his career to date but his continual desire to bowl fast and bowl match winning spells has established him as one of the most dangerous quicks in modern day cricket.
Lockie Ferguson’s batting is mainly at the lower end of the middle order and he normally comes in to make quick runs every now and then. In ODIs, he has merely scored 122 runs at a strike rate of 51.92 and in T20Is he has scored 29 runs at 80.56. His IPL batting strike rate of 153.2 – shows he can come in and play with impact for short spells, while he is not regarded as a major run scorer, his ability to hit the ball can change a low score into a usable one in a late innings phase.
